Dr. Theodore St Antoine

Biography

Theodore J. St. Antoine is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Michigan Law School, where he has had a distinguished career since joining the faculty in 1965. He served as the Dean of the Law School from 1971 to 1978 and has been recognized for his substantial contributions to the field of labor law, employment law, and contracts. A notable labor arbitrator for over 40 years, St. Antoine was the president of the National Academy of Arbitrators from 1999 to 2000 and has been actively involved in various legal organizations, including the American Arbitration Association and the American Bar Association, where he held leadership roles. He has also taught as a visiting professor at notable institutions such as Cambridge, Duke, and George Washington universities, and participated in the Salzburg Seminar in American Studies. St. Antoine was awarded the George W. Taylor Award by the American Arbitration Association for his contributions to industrial peacekeeping and the collective bargaining process. Additionally, he has co-edited a leading labor law casebook and has been a prominent member of the United Auto Workers' Public Review Board. Throughout his career, St. Antoine has been acknowledged as a Distinguished Alumnus of the Law School in 2013.
