Biography

Therese Andersson is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Gothenburg, specializing in film studies and cultural studies. She completed her doctoral thesis, titled 'Beauty Box: Film Stars Beauty Culture Early 20th Century Sweden - Cinema Studies', at Stockholm University in 2006. Following her doctorate, she worked on a postdoctoral project focused on Sofia Coppola's 'Marie Antoinette' from 2007 to 2009, supported by a grant from the Anna Ahlström Ellen Terserus Foundation. In 2010, she became engaged in the project 'Velcro, Button Zip: Power Materiality Styling Dressing', funded by the Bank Sweden Tercentenary Foundation. Her research interests are diverse, primarily inspired by cultural studies, tackling areas such as popular culture, film, television, celebrity studies, and fashion research. She has edited a book titled 'Heroes Heroines: Concepts Depictions Eufemia Songs Gösta Berling's Saga' (2012) and guest edited a journal issue on 'Fashion, Market Materiality' in Culture Unbound: Journal of Current Cultural Research (2011). In her teaching, she covers film studies, cultural studies, fashion studies, and media communication studies.
