Biography

Therese Fuhrer is a distinguished professor in the field of Classical Philology with a focus on Latin Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin. She has an extensive academic background, having studied Classical Philology and Ancient History at various prestigious universities including Bern, Basel, and the University of California Irvine. Fuhrer's academic journey includes multiple degrees and qualifications from the University of Bern, where she earned her doctorate in Greek Studies. She completed her habilitation in Classical Philology at the University of Bern, with research concentrating on Augustine's works. As an expert in Latin literature and ancient philosophy, she has contributed significantly to the study of Augustinian thought and Roman literature. Fuhrer has held prominent academic positions, including professorships at the University of Trier, University of Zurich, and Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg.
