Biography

Thierry Chekouo Tekougang is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Yaounde I (2001) and a Master's degree in Mathematics-Algebra (2004) from the same institution. Additionally, he earned a Master's degree in Statistics Economics from the Upper National School of Statistics and Applied Economics in 2007, followed by a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Montreal in 2013. His research encompasses Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Cancer, and Neuroimaging. He is primarily focused on developing new statistical frameworks for the analysis of complex high-dimensional datasets, particularly high-throughput genomic, epigenomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and imaging data. His work heavily utilizes Bayesian statistical methods, variable selection, clustering, and functional data analysis, with a special emphasis on creating integrative models that combine various data sources for biomarker discovery and clinical prediction.
