Dr. Thomas Berrett

Biography

Thomas Berrett is an Associate Professor at the University of Warwick, specializing in statistical theory and methodology in nonparametric settings. He graduated with a PhD from the University of Cambridge in January 2018. His research interests include developing statistical methods for estimation of entropy functionals, testing for conditional independence, and classification problems. He has a particular interest in the application of nearest neighbor methods and permutation tests. Prior to his current position, he held postdoctoral researcher positions at CREST, ENSAE, and at the University of Cambridge's Statistical Laboratory, where he was supervised by notable professors. Thomas is actively involved in the academic community and contributes to the development of innovative statistical techniques.
