Biography

Thomas Birch is an archaeometrist with a specialization in the technological analysis of archaeological materials. He has a PhD in Archaeology from the University of Aberdeen, focusing on provenance technology of Iron Age artifacts. Birch has published extensively, with numerous research outputs dating back to 2009, including studies on Viking-era metal production and the economic systems of ancient Northern Europe.
