Biography

Thomas Brazelton is currently a third-year NSF Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University, where he is collaborating with Mike Hopkins. Brazelton completed his graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was co-advised by Mona Merling and Kirsten Wickelgren. His research primarily focuses on algebraic geometry and algebraic topology, particularly enumerative algebraic geometry and enriched invariants. He is set to begin a position as an Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University in Spring 2027. In addition to his research, he will be teaching the second-semester graduate course in algebraic topology, MATH231br, which emphasizes a Hirzebruch-flavored study of the topology of algebraic manifolds.
