Biography

Thomas John Cummings is a Professor in the Departments of Pathology and Ophthalmology at Duke University. He is also a member of the Duke Cancer Institute. His clinical research interests focus on various areas including Neuropathology, Ophthalmic Pathology, Orthopaedic Pathology, Neuromuscular Pathology, and General Surgical Pathology. Additionally, he has research interests in Leprosy and Tropical Diseases. He completed his fellowship in Neuropathology at Duke University, School of Medicine from 1999 to 2001 and his residency in Pathology at Duke University from 1997 to 1999. He earned his M.D. from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1991. In recognition of his research efforts, he was awarded a grant for Research Training in Neuro-Oncology by the National Institutes of Health from 2005 to 2010.
