Dr. Thomas Donaldson

Biography

Thomas Donaldson is the Mark O. Winkelman Professor of Legal Studies and Business Ethics in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Kansas. His academic interests revolve around business ethics, focusing specifically on risk management and corporate compliance. Donaldson has made significant contributions to the field through various publications, including 'Ties that Bind: Social Contract Approach Business Ethics' published by Harvard University Business School Press in 1999. He has also written articles such as 'Dangerous Currents' in Directors & Boards and 'Defining Value Good Business' included in Mastering Management: Corporate Governance. In addition to his research and publications, Donaldson is actively engaged in discussions centered around the Stakeholder Theory, as reflected in his work, 'The Stakeholder Theory Corporation: Concepts, Evidence, Implication' published in the Academy Management Review in January 1995.
