Biography

Thomas Grabowski, M.D., is the director of the UW Medicine Memory and Brain Wellness Center and a joint professor of Radiology and Neurology at the University of Washington. He is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting memory, language, and cognition. His clinical interests focus on Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia, and related neurodegenerative diseases that cause cognitive impairment. His research interests include the organization of language, semantic memory, and brain systems, utilizing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and functional brain imaging techniques to detect early signs of degenerative diseases. Outside of his professional work, Dr. Grabowski enjoys photography, hiking, exploring the American West, and participating in his church community while spending quality time with his family.
