Dr. Thomas Hickey

Biography

Thomas Hickey is an Assistant Professor at the Yale School of Medicine in the Department of Anesthesiology. He graduated from Harvard Medical School in 2011 and completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 2015. After joining the faculty at Yale in 2015, he has become board certified in Anesthesiology and Addiction Medicine. His clinical interests encompass a wide range of areas, including preoperative evaluation, acute postoperative pain management, multimodal analgesia strategies, and the perioperative management of patients with opioid use disorder. Dr. Hickey also focuses on the use of medications, such as buprenorphine, to assist in the treatment of opioid use disorder. His work is complemented by collaborations with various researchers in the field, reflecting his commitment to advancing knowledge and practices in Anesthesiology.
