Biography

Thomas R. Ioerger is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1996. He also holds an M.S. in Computer Science from the same institution, earned in 1992, and a B.S. in Molecular Cell Biology from Pennsylvania State University, obtained in 1989. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Intelligent Agents, and Bioinformatics. Throughout his career, Dr. Ioerger has been recognized for his contributions to both academic research and education. He received the Graduate Teaching Excellence Award from the Department of Computer Science at Texas A&M University in 2001 and was honored as a Faculty Fellow at the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station during the 2004-2005 academic year. Additionally, he was awarded a Graduate Fellowship by the National Science Foundation from 1990 to 1993. Dr. Ioerger is actively engaged in research that combines advanced computational techniques with applications in various scientific fields.
