Biography

Thomas Christian Jensen is a Special Consultant in Transport Policy specializing in Transport Economics at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Copenhagen, graduating in 1986. Jensen's expertise covers a wide range of tasks related to energy and environmental issues, particularly focusing on transport sector projections and evaluations. His work involves extensive public sector consultancy for the Ministry of Transport, analyzing traffic projections, road pricing effects, and energy security valuations while addressing societal costs related to CO2 emissions in the transport sector. He also studies market potential for electric vehicles and mode choice for short trips, emphasizing walking and bicycling, as well as energy consumption in trucks throughout the Nordic Countries. Jensen is actively involved in operational duties, such as updating the official Danish Transport Unit Prices and supplying data related to car stock mileage and emission calculations for the Danish Center for Environment (DCE) at Aarhus University. Additionally, he has served as a visiting teacher at DTU Transport and is linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through his contributions in education and research. His career includes various positions within DTU and public institutions, including senior roles at the Danish Energy Agency and the Institute of Local Government Studies.
