Biography

Thomas Markusson is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Gothenburg, where he specializes in teaching double bass and electric bass improvisation at the Bachelor's and Master's levels. Graduating from the University of Music in Gothenburg in 2001, he has actively worked in various musician and composer roles, performing both within Sweden and internationally. Markusson has also contributed significantly as a guest teacher and specialist expert for various music institutions in Europe, including the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover and the Jazz Campus Musik Akademie Basel. He has directed studies for music teacher training and been involved in numerous artistic projects, performing with various notable ensembles and collaborating with acclaimed musicians. Throughout his career, he has engaged in some prominent tours and concerts across Europe and Japan, demonstrating his commitment to advancing jazz and contemporary music.
