Dr. Thomas Marlow

Biography

Thomas's work sits at the intersection of environmental sociology, urban sociology, and data science. He seeks to use innovative computational social science methodologies to answer questions about environmental inequalities, global climate change, and barriers to advancing policy that promotes the transition to a sustainable future. Thomas received his Ph.D. from Brown University in 2020 and worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Center for Interacting Urban Networks (CITIES) at New York University Abu Dhabi for four years prior to joining the faculty at Texas A&M. His research has been published in academic journals such as Socius and Sociological Science, as well as interdisciplinary journals like Environmental Research Letters. His work has also been covered by media outlets including The Guardian, BBC, Washington Post, Scientific American, and Ars Technica.
