Biography

Thomas S. Robertson is the Joshua J. Harris Professor of Marketing and Academic Director at the Jay H. Baker Retailing Center, as well as the Executive Director of the Wharton INSEAD Alliance. His expertise encompasses marketing strategy, competitive behavior, and recent research on retail management and sales forecasting. With a prolific record, he is the author or co-author of numerous books and over 100 scholarly articles. Robertson has received multiple accolades for his contributions to marketing and has lectured extensively across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa. His tenure as Dean of the Wharton School was marked by significant achievements such as implementing a transformative MBA curriculum and spearheading global initiatives for the institution. Previously, he held significant leadership roles at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and London Business School. Additionally, he has served on various boards, including the Advisory Board of Sorbonne and as a director for CRA International. An advocate for education and global commerce, he holds degrees from Northwestern University and is married to Diana C. Robertson, also a professor at Wharton. Together, they have three children.
