Biography

Thomas Roemer is a Senior Lecturer in Operations Management at MIT Sloan, where he also directs the Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) Program. He has been involved in academia since 2000, starting as an Assistant Professor at MIT Sloan and then working as a faculty member at the Rady School of Management, University of California, San Diego, from 2006 to 2014. His research interests include product development, design, manufacturing, machine scheduling, and inventory theory, and he has published in leading journals. Roemer is recognized for his outstanding teaching, having received numerous awards for his work. He earned his Diplom-Ingenieur degree from Technische Universität Berlin and his PhD from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management. His professional interests merge engineering and management, focusing on value creation throughout the product life cycle, from design to delivery.
