Dr. Thomas Rowe

Biography

Thomas D. Rowe, Jr. is the Elvin R. Latty Professor Emeritus of Law at Duke University. He began his professional career as a law clerk for the Supreme Court of the United States. Rowe joined the Duke law faculty in 1975 and served in various administrative roles, including associate dean from 1981 to 1984 and senior associate dean from 1995 to 1996. He has taught at several prestigious institutions, including Georgetown University, the University of Michigan, the University of Virginia, UCLA, and Pepperdine University. In addition to his academic work, he served at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington and worked as an attorney in a private firm in Los Angeles. As a visiting scholar at the RAND Corporation's Institute for Civil Justice, Rowe has contributed extensively to the fields of civil procedure, complex litigation, judicial remedies, and constitutional law.
