Biography

Thomas Sellke is a Professor in the Department of Statistics at Purdue University. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Wabash College in 1976, a Master of Science in Mathematics from Stanford University in 1982, and a Ph.D. in Statistics from Stanford University in 1983. Over his career, he has been recognized with numerous awards including the Presidential Young Investigator Award in 1987, a Sloan Fellowship in 1987, and a Rotary Foundation Fellowship at the University of Gottingen in 1982. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and a member of Sigma Xi. His research interests primarily revolve around statistical methodologies and theoretical statistics, with a focus on Bayesian statistics and statistical inference. Sellke has supervised numerous Ph.D. students and continues to contribute to the academic community through his teaching and research initiatives.
