Biography

Professor Steffen’s research focuses on CEO integrity attributes, managers’ disclosures (both voluntary and mandatory), and information intermediaries, particularly in the context of capital markets. His current projects examine CEO leadership attributes, narrative economics, non-GAAP earnings, and the identification of CEO characteristics based on their communications with shareholders. Prior to joining the Yale School of Management, he completed his doctoral studies at Duke University and earned both his master's and bachelor's degrees from Brigham Young University.
