Dr. Thomas Wanebo

Biography

Tom Wanebo teaches Legal Research Writing at UCLA School of Law. He began his legal career at Irell & Manella, LLP, where he focused on complex civil litigation and high-stakes intellectual property cases. With a desire to make a community impact, he later worked as a trial attorney for Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County, defending low-income tenants against eviction and suing abusive landlords. Mr. Wanebo holds a B.A. in English and History from Colorado State University and a J.D. from UCLA, where he was a Michael T. Masin Scholar and earned recognition as a Top Oral Advocate in both the Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions. His publications include the notable article 'Remote Killing and the Fourth Amendment: Updating Constitutional Law to Address Expanded Police Lethality in the Robotic Age' published in the UCLA Law Review.
