Thomas Werge is a Clinical Professor at the University of Copenhagen, specializing in Psychiatry. His research focuses on understanding the biological reasons contributing to the development of severe mental disorders such as schizophrenia and autism, which have significant personal and social costs. His work aims to provide tools for diagnosing patients at a specific level and serves as a basis for personalized drug development. He has been actively involved in creating the Danish Psychiatric Biobank, which seeks to identify genetic factors associated with severe mental disorders. Collaborating with international research groups, Dr. Werge has explored genome changes linked to mental disorders.
