Biography

Tia K. Joseph, M.S., R.N. is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at the University of California, Davis. With 11 years of clinical experience, she has worked at a level trauma center and has served as a nurse manager at Stanford Hospitals and Clinics in Palo Alto, California. In 2021, she joined the faculty to teach in the Master’s Entry Nursing Program and the school’s graduate-degree programs. Currently, Joseph is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy, with an expected graduation in 2024. Her dissertation research focuses on supporting caregivers of dementia patients to improve their overall well-being. She has contributed to the development of new practitioners through clinical practice and educational leadership. Her experience as a clinical instructor includes creating scholarly materials designed to accommodate various learning styles among students. Tia holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of San Francisco, earned in 2007, and a Master of Science in Leadership from the UC Davis School of Nursing, graduated in 2018, as well as several graduate academic certificates in health professions education and family caregiving. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, and has presented her caregiving research at various professional venues.
