Dr. Tianyi Lin

Biography

Tianyi Lin joined the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at Columbia University in 2024. His research interests include optimization, game theory, machine learning, applied probability, and social networks, with applications in data science. He obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining Columbia, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratory for Information & Decision Systems at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2023 to 2024. He also holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Nanjing University, an M.S. in Pure Mathematics from the University of Cambridge, and an M.S. in Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley.
