Biography

Tiina Nypelö is an Associate Professor in Bio-based Materials at Chalmers University, where she is also affiliated with the Wallenberg Wood Science Center. Her research emphasizes the study of cellulose, hemicelluloses, and lignins, particularly regarding surface, interface, and intermolecular interactions. Additionally, Nypelö serves as the Director of the graduate school in Materials Science, where she oversees educational initiatives and strategies. She has also held an interim position as Vice President of Education in the European Polysaccharide Network of Excellence, enhancing collaboration across academic platforms in materials science.
