Dr. Tilo Böhmann

Biography

Tilo Böhmann is the head of the IT Management and Consulting research group. His research interests focus on Service Systems Engineering and IT Management. Since 2018, he has served as Vice President for Region 2 (Europe, Middle East, Africa) of the Association for Information Systems (AIS). In 2022, he was the Program Co-Chair of the International Conference on Information Systems, and in the same year, he was awarded the Hamburger Teaching Prize. From 2014 to 2018, he was the head of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Hamburg, having previously served as the deputy head from 2012 and again from 2018 to 2022. He held a W3 professorship in Service Management at the International Business School of Service Management from 2008 to 2010. Tilo Böhmann habilitated at the Technical University of Munich and worked as a research assistant and group leader at the Chair for Information Systems under Prof. Dr. Helmut Krcmar. He earned his doctorate at the University of Hohenheim (Stuttgart) with a thesis on service development in economics and studied at the University of Hohenheim and the London School of Economics and Political Science focusing on economics and information systems. In 2006, he won first place in the scientific junior competition of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in the field of services.
