Biography

Tim Donohoe is a Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Oxford. He studied for his D.Phil. at Oxford under the supervision of Steve Davies before undertaking postdoctoral work with Phil Magnus FRS. In 1994, he joined the University of Manchester as a Lecturer in Chemistry, where he was promoted to Reader in 2000. By 2001, he moved to the Dyson Perrins Laboratory at Oxford as a Lecturer and Fellow at Magdalen College. In 2004, he was appointed Professor of Chemistry at Oxford and served as Head of Organic Chemistry from 2006-2011. His research focuses on redox chemistry and the application of catalysis to the synthesis of natural products. Tim has published over 200 research papers. His work has been recognized through several awards, including the GlaxoWellcome Award for Innovative Chemistry in 1996 and the Royal Society of Chemistry Corday-Morgan Medal in 2006. He is also an editor for the journal Tetrahedron Letters and serves as Chairman of the Tetrahedron Board.
