Dr. Tim Hageman

Biography

Tim Hageman is a departmental lecturer and 1851 research fellow at the University of Oxford. His prior experience includes a research associate position at Imperial College London. Tim obtained his PhD from the University of Sheffield, where he focused on developing multi-scale models for poroelasticity. His research interests center on developing novel finite element schemes for a wide range of multi-physics and multi-scale problems, including hydraulic fracturing processes, ice sheets, hydrogen embrittlement failure in metals, and corrosion processes. He aims to address material-environment interactions and consistently seeks to obtain accurate solutions that capture the behavior of materials and their responses to environmental changes. By combining modeling with numerical techniques, Tim ensures stable and accurate simulations.
