Biography

Dr. Tim Ramsay is a Senior Scientist in the Clinical Epidemiology Program at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) and an Associate Professor at the University of Ottawa's School of Epidemiology and Public Health. He serves as the Scientific Director of the Ottawa Methods Centre (OMC), which comprises a team of 40 scientists, statisticians, programmers, data managers, and information scientists. The OMC focuses on enhancing and facilitating clinical research at the Ottawa Hospital and the University of Ottawa by providing expertise in study design, knowledge synthesis, data management, and statistical analysis. Dr. Ramsay has a PhD in statistics and identifies as both an epidemiologist and biostatistician, participating as a co-investigator in numerous peer-reviewed projects, including randomized controlled trials and observational studies. He has been a co-investigator on over 50 peer-reviewed grants, totaling $34,241,773, and has served on the Scientific Officer committee for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Randomized Controlled Trials committee for the past ten years. His research interests include biostatistics, study design, and clinical trials.
