Tim Vyse trained in Natural Sciences at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, and Medicine at Guy’s Hospital Medical School. He undertook further clinical training at London Queen Square and Hammersmith Hospital. Tim completed his PhD at the University of London and subsequently underwent post-doctoral training at the National Jewish Center for Immunology in Denver, Colorado. He was awarded the Wellcome Trust Senior Clinical Fellowship and worked at Imperial College London, where he became a Professor of Rheumatology. In 2010, he moved to King’s College London, where he obtained a personal Chair in Molecular Medicine. His research interests focus on the genetic basis of autoimmune diseases, particularly systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), as well as molecular immunology and systemic autoimmunity, exploring the influence of ancestry on genetic factors impacting SLE diagnosis and prognosis.
