Dr. Timo Busch

Biography

Timo Busch is a full professor at the University of Hamburg in the Chair of Management Sustainability. His academic career includes teaching positions at reputable institutions such as the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich and the Duisenberg School of Finance in the Netherlands. Busch focuses his instruction on corporate sustainability, business strategy and environment, and sustainable finance. His research interests lie in developing strategies for a low-carbon economy, exploring the business case for sustainability, and advancing sustainable finance practices. He has conducted research stays at prestigious institutions including the John Molson School of Business in Canada, Amsterdam Business School in the Netherlands, Nanyang Business School in Singapore, and the University of California, Berkeley in the USA. Additionally, he serves as a delegate for the United Nations at the Rio +20 Conference on Sustainable Development and advises the German government on climate change policies. He is also the Principal Investigator for the Cluster of Excellence project, Climate, Climatic Change, Society (CLICCS), and holds editorial positions for various academic journals, including Organization & Environment and the Journal of Business Ethics.
