Dr. Timo Fleckenstein

Biography

Timo Fleckenstein is a political scientist with a focus on Comparative Political Economy and Comparative Social Policy. He joined the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Policy after completing his DPhil at the University of Oxford. His teaching includes undergraduate courses on 'Comparative International Social Policy' and postgraduate courses on the Politics of Social Policy. Timo's research primarily examines welfare states with a particular regional focus on Western Europe and East Asia, as well as labor market, family, and skills policies. He has published extensively in leading journals within Political Science and Social Policy, which includes works in 'World Politics', 'Comparative Political Studies', and 'Journal of European Social Policy', among others. Timo is open to supervising potential PhD students interested in topics within these areas, particularly in Comparative Political Economy, Family Policy, and Policy-Making Processes.
