Biography

Timo Henckel is an Associate Professor in the Research School of Economics and a Research Fellow in the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis at the Australian National University. He directs the Behavioural Macroeconomics Complexity research program and serves as the Chair of ANU's Reserve Bank Australia Shadow Board. His research encompasses various fields including behavioural economics, monetary economics, international macroeconomics, experimental economics, and complexity heterogeneity. Timo has theoretically, empirically, and experimentally investigated sources of bounded rationality and their implications for behavior and inflation-related macroeconomic policy. His work has been published in leading journals such as Experimental Economics, Oxford Economic Papers, Oxford Review of Economic Policy, and the Journal of Macroeconomics. In addition to his research, Timo has provided media commentary and written numerous policy briefs on topics such as infrastructure policy, financial crises, and asset price bubbles. He is also active in research student supervision at ANU.
