Timothy Blackwell's research examines the development of housing finance systems in Europe within a political economy framework, focusing on historical and contemporary perspectives. His current research interests include Swedish comparative housing policy, housing finance, construction costs, land costs and allocation, house prices, and the role of organized interest groups in the configuration of housing provision. He is currently based at the Institute for Housing and Urban Research as a postdoctoral researcher. Timothy obtained his Ph.D. in International Relations from the Centre for Global Political Economy at the University of Sussex and has been a visiting researcher at the Institute for Housing and Urban Research at Uppsala University. He also holds an MSc in Social Research Methods and an MA in Political Economy from the University of Sussex, both with distinctions. He has contributed to various publications and has been recognized as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
