Biography

Timothy P. Connors is a lecturer at the University of Michigan Law School and a state court judge since 1991, having served as chief judge for 11 years. He presides over civil domestic division cases at the Washtenaw County Trial Court, managing the neglect and abuse docket in Juvenile Court. Connors has played significant roles in legal initiatives, previously serving as co-chair of the Michigan Tribal-State-Federal Forum and as a judge pro tem for the Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians as well as presiding judge of the Washtenaw County Peacemaking Court. Connors has authored various articles on legal matters pertaining to peacemaking and child welfare, receiving numerous accolades including the Daniel J. Wright Lifetime Achievement Award and the Thurgood Marshall Civil Rights Award. He has also been recognized with multiple awards for his contributions to judicial excellence.
