Dr. Timothy Cornell

Biography

Timothy Thomas Cornell is a Chambers-Okamura Endowed Professor in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Stanford University. He completed his Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at Baylor College in 2002 and has a Fellowship from the University of Michigan in 2007. He holds board certification from the American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine since 2008. Prior to his current role, he underwent residency training at Childrens National Medical Center in Pediatric Medicine. His clinical focus encompasses various aspects of pediatric critical care, particularly in the management of complex conditions affecting critically ill children. Cornell leads significant research aimed at improving outcomes for pediatric patients, particularly those suffering from severe conditions like diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas and spinal diffuse midline gliomas. His work includes multicenter clinical trials aimed at establishing effective cooling durations for neuroprotection in comatose survivors of cardiac arrest. Through his academic endeavors, he aims to contribute significantly to the advancement of pediatric critical care practices and improve patient care methodologies.
