Biography

Timothy Edgar is a Senior Fellow at the Watson School of International and Public Affairs at Brown University, contributing to the launch of Brown's cybersecurity master’s degree program. He teaches courses related to the legal problems of cybersecurity at Harvard Law School. Prior to his academic career, Timothy served as legislative counsel for the ACLU, beginning his role shortly after the September 11 attacks in 2001. He also worked as a law clerk for Judge Sandra Lynch at the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Timothy is a graduate of Harvard Law School (1997) and Dartmouth College (1994). Additionally, Timothy has provided expert testimony before Congress on various issues regarding cybersecurity and privacy.
