Biography

Timothy Elgin, MSc, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. His clinical focus is on the care of extremely low birth weight infants and he works to develop effective high-frequency ventilation strategies to protect lung development in premature infants. In addition to his clinical work, Elgin is involved in simulation-based training, aiming to enhance communication and teamwork among healthcare providers while improving patient safety in the field of neonatology. His research interests lie in utilizing simulation to facilitate team training, improve clinical practices, maintain skills retention, and enhance leadership capabilities within medical teams. Elgin has extensive training, including a BA from Luther College, and a Master's in Healthcare Simulation from University of Galway, and has completed his residency and fellowship at prominent institutions including the Ohio State University and the University of Iowa.
