Biography

Timothy Endicott is the Vinerian Professor of English Law at Souls College, University of Oxford. He graduated with an AB in Classics and English from Harvard and completed an MPhil in Comparative Philology at Oxford. Endicott studied Law at the University of Toronto and practiced as a litigation lawyer in Toronto. He completed his DPhil in Law at Oxford in 1998. In 2016, he was appointed as a Distinguished Visitor at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto, and held the Cátedra de Excelencia at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. From 2015 to 2021, he served as the General Editor of the Oxford Journal of Legal Studies. Endicott has diverse research interests that include Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Jurisprudence, Political Theory, and the intersection of Law and Language, particularly in the context of legal interpretation. He has contributed to various academic forums and has a presence in multiple scholarly databases including SSRN and Google Scholar.
