Dr. Timothy Hobley

Biography

Timothy Hobley is an Associate Professor at the Technical University of Denmark, specializing in fermentation and bioprocess technology. With a deep expertise in fermentation downstream processing, he focuses on key research areas such as fermentation physiology, enzyme production, and bioethanol production. His work involves innovative approaches using fungi like Trichoderma and Aspergillus, and advancements in single-cell protein production with new fermenter types. Prof. Hobley has supervised numerous Ph.D. and postdoctoral researchers and has served as a visiting lecturer at the University of Trinidad and Tobago. He teaches both undergraduate and master's courses in biotechnology and fermentation technology at DTU. His significant contributions to the field are reflected in his leadership roles and numerous successful projects aimed at sustainable protein extraction from brewer's spent grains and other bioprocesses. He remains active in supervising student projects and collaborating on research initiatives that align with global sustainability goals.
