Biography

Timothy Jacob-Owens is an Early Career Fellow at the Edinburgh Law School, where he serves as Programme Director for the LLM in European Law. His research focuses on citizenship and migration, European law and empire, and transnational law and legal theory. His work has been published in leading journals such as Public Law, Comparative Constitutional Studies, Citizenship Studies, and the International Migration Review. Tim holds a BA and MPhil from the University of Bristol and an LLM and PhD from the European University Institute in Florence. Prior to joining Edinburgh full-time in 2022, he taught at the European University Institute's School of Transnational Governance and worked as a Research Associate at the Global Citizenship Observatory. He remains affiliated as a Senior Research Associate and Regional Coordinator for the Anglophone Caribbean.
