Timothy C. Kirkpatrick, DDS, is the Professor and Chair of the Department of Endodontics at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry, effective December 1, 2022. He previously served as the interim chair from January 1 to November 30 in the same year. Dr. Kirkpatrick directs the Advanced Education Endodontics Program and holds the Frank B. Trice, DDS, Professorship in Endodontics as well as the John R. Ludington, Jr., DDS, MSD Distinguished Professorship in Endodontics. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Baylor University in 1985 and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School in 1989. His advanced training includes a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry from the University of Florida in Gainesville (1990) and a certificate in Endodontics from Wilford Hall Medical Center (2000). Dr. Kirkpatrick retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2017 after 25 years of service, during which he served as program director for the Endodontics Residency at both Wilford Hall Medical Center and Keesler Medical Center. He also acted as an endodontics consultant for the Air Force Surgeon General from 2010 to 2017 and became a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics in 2004. Dr. Kirkpatrick has served on the board of directors for the American Board of Endodontics, including a term as president from 2020 to 2021.
