Dr. Timothy Sayle

Biography

Timothy Andrews Sayle is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at the University of Toronto and the Director of the International Relations Program. He is the author of 'Enduring Alliance: History NATO Postwar Global Order' published by Cornell University Press in 2019, and has co-edited significant volumes on contemporary issues including 'George W. Bush’s Decision Surge Iraq.' His research interests focus on NATO, Canadian-American relations, and intelligence issues, with publications in various esteemed journals including Canadian Military History and Cold War History. Throughout his academic career, Professor Sayle has collaborated with graduate and undergraduate students to create 'Canada Declassified', a web repository that houses declassified archival records, which received support from SSHRC Insight Development Grant and Connaught New Research Award. He is also involved with the Bill Graham Centre for Contemporary International History and serves as an associate at the Center for Presidential History at Southern Methodist University. Additionally, he is a fellow at Trinity College and an alumnus of Massey College, contributing to his rich academic engagement within the university community.
