Biography

Timur Kuran is a Gorter Family Distinguished Professor of Economics and Political Science at Duke University. He has served as Co-Director for Graduate Studies in the Master of Arts in Political Economy program at the Duke Center for International Development. Kuran's research interests include social change, the evolution of preferences and institutions, and the economic and political history of modernization in the Middle East.
