Biography

Tin Vo joined the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work as an Assistant Professor in July 2024, specializing in community-based social work practice. They completed Postdoctoral Fellowships at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto, and Unity Health Toronto, following their PhD in Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. Vo also holds a Master's in Public Health from the University of Alberta and an Honours Bachelor's in Science from the University of Guelph. Their research is interdisciplinary and community-engaged, focusing on social determinants of health, emphasizing belonging, resilience, and overall well-being. They critically evaluate policies affecting diverse populations and explore the intersectional lived experiences of historically marginalized communities. Vo has over 13 years of experience in the public sector and non-profit organizations as a Credentialed Evaluator and program planner. They are also actively involved in various community and health initiatives and have received several awards, including the CES Ontario Award for Distinguished Service, recognizing their contributions to mental health and social work education.
