Biography

Tina Haase explores the qualities, properties, places, objects, and spaces that inspire her works of art, including objects, installations, architectural sculptures, performances, and short films. After initially studying German language and literature pedagogy in Cologne, she studied at art academies in Münster and Düsseldorf, becoming a master student of Fritz Schwegler. Haase's work is internationally renowned, with regular exhibitions in Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, the USA, the Netherlands, Austria, and Poland. In addition to her sculptural work, she created several short films in the 1980s and devised space-oriented choreography in the 1990s. She became a design lecturer at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in 2004 and a full professor of visual design at the Technical University of Munich's Faculty of Architecture in 2007. Haase is a founding member of the Society of Artistic Design Teachers in Higher Education and has served as a juror in numerous art-in-building competitions, as well as a member of the German Artists' Association and a special representative on the art and design planning advisory board for the city of Ingolstadt.
