Dr. Tina Korownyk

Biography

Tina Korownyk is a Professor and the Chair of the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Alberta. With over 20 years of experience practicing as a Family Physician in Edmonton, Tina has established herself as a leader in her field. As a proud founding member of PEER, an organization dedicated to empowering primary care providers to utilize evidence, she takes an active role in developing tools and guidelines to enhance clinical practice. Tina is also heavily involved in knowledge translation activities to share crucial insights with the broader medical community. A frequent speaker at provincial and national conferences, she has published over 125 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Her research interests include pragmatic trials and evidence-based medicine, which are focused on improving patient care through innovative randomized controlled trials. Outside of her professional achievements, Tina enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and four active children.
