Biography

Tina Yanchus holds Bachelor of Music and Master of the Science of Music degrees from the Juilliard School in New York City. She studied under renowned instructors Jacob Lateiner and Joseph Raieff. As a performer, she has played recitals with orchestras across Canada and the United States. In addition, Tina Yanchus is known for her work with her husband James Hibbard in the Yanchus-Hibbard piano duo, performing extensively and heard on CBC Radio's Mostly Music Arts National. Together, they have coached chamber music for 11 years at the Kincardine Summer Music Festival. With over 40 years of experience, she currently teaches at Western University's Don Wright Faculty of Music and serves as a music festival adjudicator, maintaining a large class of piano students. Many of her students have gone on to further their studies at prestigious institutions, including the Juilliard School, Eastman, Columbia University, and the Glenn Gould School.
