Tine Brøndum's current research focuses on young people's educational choices and their experiences with various forms of recognition and marginalization in the educational system. This includes how markers such as ethnicity, religion, class, and gender intersect and influence social relations and future expectations, which often align with traditional class and status markers. Previously, she worked on the RESTORE project that examined refugees' memories and interactions with the Danish welfare state. Tine holds a degree in Sociology of Religion and a PhD in Education. Her research interests include young people's self-understandings and educational experiences related to categories such as ethnicity, religion, class, and gender. Additionally, she investigates how diversity and marginalization manifest within education and the role of didactic and broader societal norms in this context. Brøndum currently works on the Diverging Paths project, which studies children's and adolescents' choices of education, focusing on their experiences across vocational, professional, and higher education pathways. She has extensive teaching experience, having instructed and supervised undergraduate and graduate students at Aarhus University and University of Copenhagen.
