Dr. Ting Tsui

Biography

Ting Tsui is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo. He holds a PhD and MSc from Rice University, as well as a BSc from Clemson University. His research interests include nanoindentation, sub-micron fabrication, nanomechanics, thin film delaminations, and the small-scale mechanical properties of materials in extreme environments. Dr. Tsui has contributed significantly to the field with several publications that explore the mechanical properties of nanostructures and the effects of low-temperature pressure on thin films. He has worked on various projects, including the analysis of the dielectric constant of porous dielectric films and the mechanical properties of indium and bismuth nanostructures. His work is recognized for advancing our understanding of material behavior at small scales, which is critical for developing new technologies in engineering and materials science.
